  • Cost: £50 per team
  • Teams: Teams consist of five runners who can be all male, female or mixed sex. Each team member will run approximated 5.5 miles. Distances will vary slightly from leg to leg due to the placing of suitable changeover points. The minimum age for team members is 17. Relay changeover points are indicated on the course maps: half marathon / full marathon.
  • Transport: Team members are responsible for making their own way to the changeover points. The changeover points have been chosen to allow parking close by. A full detailed map of the route and changeover points will be included in the race pack.
  • Changeover and timing: The first runner will start at the main race start along with all other runners taking part in the full and half marathons. Start time is 10.05am. This runner will take the ankle chip supplied in the race pack (electronic chip used to time the runners secured by a Velcro ankle strap) and, having placed it on his/her ankle, start the race.
They will then stop at the first changeover point, pull out of the main body of runners to the changeover area and remove the chip, handing it to the second runner who fits it to their ankle before stating the next leg. This continues at each changeover until the final runner crosses the line, at this point the chip will register the teams total time. Split times are not available so runners should time themselves if they require these.
  • Additional information: None of the changeover points are that far away from the main race site so it should be possible for all team members to meet back at the site if they wish. A bit of careful planning will help, i.e. leaving warm clothes and a drink in each vehicle, arranging spare keys etc.
